A tragic plane crash shocked the London Southend Airport, in East London, on Sunday, July 13,2024. A Beechcraft B200 Super King Air business Turboprop aircraft crashed just seconds after takeoff, killing all four people on board.
According to reports, the aircraft showed signs of instability immediately after lifting off, performed an abrupt maneuver, and violently impacted the ground. The twin-engine aircraft, operated by the Dutch company Zeusch Aviation, was heading to Lelystad, Netherlands, after a ferry flight that included stops in Croatia and Greece.
Eyewitnesses described the moment the plane crashed and burst into a massive fireball, sending a thick plume of smoke visible from several kilometers away. Emergency crews — firefighters, police, and medical teams — rushed to the scene.
The crash led to a temporary closure of London Southend Airport, disrupting flights and affecting hundreds of passengers. Operations resumed only after the fire was contained and the crash site secured.
The UK Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) has launched an inquiry to determine the causes of the accident. So far, no technical failure has been officially confirmed, and the investigation remains ongoing.
This tragic event highlights the ongoing importance of aviation safety and the critical role of thorough accident investigations in preventing future occurrences.
