Phenom 300EV: The Aircraft That Embodies Embraer’s Technological Strength



 The Phenom 300EV is much more than a new version of an already successful business jet. It represents Embraer’s ability to combine aerodynamic performance, advanced avionics, operational safety, comfort, and industrial efficiency in a single aircraft.

Developed from the Phenom 300 series—the world’s best-selling light-jet family—the EV incorporates substantial technological advances without abandoning the characteristics that made the original model a global benchmark.

In August 2026, the aircraft received simultaneous certification from Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC), the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). The achievement confirms that the program complies with the requirements of three of the world’s leading civil aviation authorities.

Performance at the Top of the Light-Jet Category

According to Embraer, the Phenom 300EV can reach Mach 0.80, approximately 980 km/h under the appropriate atmospheric conditions. Its maximum range is 2,055 nautical miles, or about 3,806 kilometers, carrying four passengers and maintaining NBAA IFR fuel reserves.

These numbers place the aircraft at the top of the light-jet segment in terms of speed and range.

The additional range allows the Phenom 300EV to operate nonstop on routes such as São Paulo–Manaus, Aspen–New York, and Dubai–Maldives. This capability expands its potential for corporate transportation, charter operations, private ownership, and regional executive travel.

The new version also received an increase of approximately 430 pounds in payload capacity, providing operators with greater flexibility when carrying passengers, baggage, and fuel.

Emergency Autoland: Technology Designed for a Critical Situation

One of the Phenom 300EV’s most significant innovations is the Garmin Emergency Autoland system.

If the pilot becomes incapacitated, the system can assume control of the aircraft, evaluate the operational conditions, select a suitable airport, communicate with air traffic control, configure the airplane for the approach, and perform a fully automated landing.

The technology also coordinates navigation, speed, altitude, landing-gear extension, flap configuration, braking, and other essential flight parameters.

The Phenom 300EV became the first light jet certified with Garmin Emergency Autoland and is currently the largest business aircraft equipped with the system.

This does not eliminate the importance of pilot training, sound operational judgment, or proper flight planning. It does, however, provide an additional safety barrier against one of aviation’s most critical scenarios: pilot incapacitation when no other qualified crewmember is able to take control.

An Integrated Safety Architecture

Emergency Autoland is only one element of the aircraft’s broader safety package.

The Phenom 300EV is equipped with the Garmin G3000 Prodigy Touch flight deck and incorporates systems such as:

  • Autothrottle;
  • Automatic braking;
  • Rudder-by-wire;
  • Emergency Descent Mode;
  • Synthetic Vision Guidance System;
  • Runway and taxiway situational awareness;
  • Runway Overrun Awareness and Alerting System;
  • Advanced navigation and flight-management resources.

Embraer developed a Multi-Purpose Electronic Controller to manage several electronically controlled functions, including the rudder-by-wire and autobrake systems.

This level of integration can reduce pilot workload, improve handling, simplify maintenance, and increase situational awareness. The aircraft therefore demonstrates how modern aviation safety increasingly depends on the interaction between human competence, automation, system redundancy, and intelligent cockpit design.

Operational Performance and Reliability

The Phenom 300EV also introduces lithium-ion batteries supplied by True Blue Power and LED landing and taxi lights. These changes are intended to improve reliability, aircraft availability, and operational efficiency.

For an executive-aircraft operator, performance is not limited to speed or range. Dispatch reliability, maintenance requirements, fuel consumption, airport compatibility, technical support, and residual value are all part of the economic equation.

This is one of Embraer’s strengths. The company does not develop an aircraft merely as an isolated product. It builds an operating ecosystem involving engineering support, maintenance, spare parts, training, logistics, and worldwide customer assistance.

A Cabin Designed for Modern Executive Aviation

The technological evolution is also evident inside the cabin.

The aircraft retains some of the most recognized characteristics of the Phenom 300 family, including large windows, generous baggage capacity, and an entrance stairway inspired by larger business jets.

The EV introduces or improves features such as:

  • High-speed connectivity through low-Earth-orbit satellites;
  • Improved temperature control;
  • Cabin-air ionization;
  • A redesigned refreshment center;
  • An odorless vacuum lavatory;
  • A maximum cabin altitude of approximately 6,600 feet.

Starlink connectivity is also expected to become available as an aftermarket solution through a Supplemental Type Certificate.

These features demonstrate that executive aviation is no longer assessed only by flight performance. Connectivity, cabin environment, passenger productivity, and comfort have become decisive factors in the international market.

The Evolution of a Successful Aircraft Family

The Phenom 300EV did not emerge from an entirely new platform. It is the result of the continuous development of an aircraft family that has already established a strong presence worldwide.

This strategy reduces program risk while allowing Embraer to incorporate new technologies in a controlled and commercially viable manner. It also demonstrates the company’s ability to listen to operators and transform operational experience into engineering improvements.

Rather than making changes merely for marketing purposes, Embraer focused on systems that can produce practical gains in safety, payload, range, connectivity, reliability, and passenger experience.

A Symbol of Brazil’s Aerospace Capability

The Phenom 300EV should also be understood within a broader industrial context.

Few countries possess the technical capacity to design, certify, manufacture, sell, and support a modern business jet in the world’s most demanding markets. This requires qualified engineers, specialized suppliers, advanced manufacturing processes, flight-test expertise, regulatory competence, and a global support network.

Embraer competes in this environment against some of the most respected manufacturers in international aviation. Its success demonstrates that Brazil can produce high-value technology and participate in sophisticated global supply chains.

The aircraft is therefore more than an executive transportation product. It is also evidence of the importance of engineering, technical education, scientific research, industrial policy, and long-term investment in Brazil’s aerospace sector.

Technology Must Support the Pilot

Automation is becoming increasingly capable, but its purpose should not be to remove the pilot from the operational equation. Its real value lies in increasing safety margins, reducing workload during critical phases, and offering additional protection when human performance is compromised.

The Phenom 300EV represents this philosophy. It combines pilot-centered avionics with systems capable of intervening in exceptional circumstances.

Technology, when properly designed and understood, does not diminish the role of the pilot. It strengthens the entire safety system around the flight.

More Than a New Aircraft

The Phenom 300EV is not simply a faster or more sophisticated business jet. It is a demonstration of Embraer’s technological maturity and its ability to maintain a competitive position in one of the most demanding segments of the global aerospace industry.

With a maximum speed of Mach 0.80, a range of up to 3,806 kilometers, increased payload, advanced avionics, and Emergency Autoland, the aircraft raises the standard of the light-jet category.

Its first deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2028. Until then, the program will continue preparing its production, customer-support, and entry-into-service structure.

For Brazil, however, its significance is already clear: the Phenom 300EV shows that the country is not merely a consumer of advanced aviation technology. Through Embraer, Brazil remains capable of creating, certifying, manufacturing, and exporting it.
